All,
This morning Jean Myers, Frank Vanslager and I had three STILT SANDPIPERS
in the first pond on the right as you head out (northwest) from the
Environmental Education Center entrance road on the railroad tracks thru New
Chicago Marsh. Two more Stilt Sandpipers were another hundred feet deeper
into the marsh, in the direction of the headquarters building, near some
ducks. Later as Frank and I checked on the status of young BLACK SKIMMERS
in Salt Pond A16 (one looking much like a dark gull with the pair on the second
island but none seen with the pair on the first island) an OSPREY flew over
the marsh from east to west. Earlier Frank and I stopped at the
Sunnyvale Baylands Park where we had good numbers of YELLOW WARBLERS, a couple
WARBLING VIREOS, at least one WILLOW FLYCATCHER, a couple WESTERN
FLYCATCHERS (not calling) and a few CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES.
Take care,
