This afternoon (Fri, May 4) around 3:00 pm the YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was
seen again at Guadalupe Oak Grove Park (Almaden). The chat was first
found by Janna Pauser this morning, and this afternoon Janna, John Hutz, Shao
Cheng, and myself enjoyed a good view of this bird. At times the bird was
quite vocal and seemed to move around a lot through the brush in the center of
the park. We finally caught up with it and saw it skulking low in a poison
oak thicket in back of the restroom area.
Among other birds of interest in the park were W. WOOD-PEWEE, PACIFIC-SLOPE
FLYCATCHER, SWAINSON'S THRUSH, and 2-3 WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS overhead.
Nice find, Janna!
