Hi,
Since it seems folks are reporting VARIED THRUSHES (I guess so we
know when they leave), I had two at the bridge crossing Peter Creek
just at the base of the Long Ridge Trail today (Thu) at about 5 PM.
One other sign of spring: I saw numerous BUSHTITS today, but more
than half the sightings were of just two together which I took to be
a pair that had broken away from the larger flocks of forty or more.
I didn't check the irises to ensure a male and female pair, but I'm
assuming that they are separated from the flock to get going on a
nest. Does anybody know if this is indeed expected behavior?
-Eric
