This morning (18 March), a walk along Llagas Creek upstream from Bloomfield
Ave. east of Gilroy produced a White-throated Sparrow, a female Blue-winged
Teal (in the water treatment plant settling ponds), and two pairs of
courting Northern Harriers over the mustard "fields" that have grown up
inside the drier settling ponds.
A Pacific-slope Flycatcher has been singing in a neighbor's yard (in Morgan
Hill, not far west of Anderson Reservoir) since Friday, and two Lawrence's
Goldfinches flew over our house this afternoon.
