It has been suggested that my reported Cassin's Vireo in Quicksilver
Parks Webb Canyon entrance could be a Purple Finch imitating a CAVI,
because of the early date. I heard the bird again on Sunday with Ann
Verdi but was unable to find it today. The only new birds seen today
were a pair of Western Bluebirds.
I did my 2 mile loop in the Quicksilver Park, McAbee entrance this
afternoon. I found a White-throated Sparrow in a rocky area between the
concrete bridge and iron gate. It looked like an adult but the white
throat and eyebrow were a creamy white, and black margins indistinct.
Seven Orange-crowned Warblers were heard singing in treetops along the
route. Two Fox Sparrows, six Wrentit and four Hutton's Vireos were seen
or heard.
