[SBB] Purple Finch singing in Los Altos

For the past month an apparent female Purple Finch has cycled through 
my yard several times each day, singing all the while.  I gather from 
previous posts by Jeff N. Davis that Purple Finches do not acquire 
the male plumage until the second year, and, from Bill Bouseman that 
Purple Finches do not breed at this elevation.  This bird acts like a 
male looking for a mate.  It does not feed at my feeders.
