[SBB] Fwd: Sierra Azul report, pics

(forwarding for Tom)

This morning 6.30 - 8.15 and 10 - 10.45 I was at the Bald Mountain trail
off Mt. Umunhum Road, and found no trace of the Black-crowned Sparrow pair
seen there recently. I did get photos (see
http://www.pbase.com/tgrey/latest ) of both male and female LAZULI BUNTINGS
who are active (and may be nesting) around the lower part of the trail.
Also saw/heard BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS and ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS there.

>From 8.30 to 10, I walked in along the Woods Trail with Janna Pauser and
her husband Lee; we saw an adult GOLDEN EAGLE downslope from the trail
about a mile in, near where a nest has been seen in recent years, too far
away for pictures to be any good.
