Excuse the noise post, but I need to do a quick check and make sure
everything's working on the list.
In the grand world of birding, the best I can do right now is that
while out working on the yard over the weekend, we had visits by both
the local Coopers Hawk (resident in santa clara central park), and a
downy woodpecker, who wandered by, chattered on a wire for about 15
seconds, then wandered off to a mature pine for lunch...
And from what I can see, the local birds have been very fruitful; lots
of fledging house sparrows and finches, and the chickadees seem to
have brought up another group of kids... it is an absolute chaos of
noise near the feeders right now -- in a good way.
