Thanks for posting the photos. The "short-billed dowitcher" is actually a Willet. Last Friday at Shoreline Lake, a Willet was 15 feet from me for several minutes, in bad light but very interesting to watch. It was catching all sorts of shellfish at the water's edge. It was eventually chased away by a kid on a mountain bike.
