All,
Kelly and I rode our bikes along the Stevens Creek trail from
Mountain View to Crittenden Marsh, and continued to Shoreline lake
and part way to Byxbee. Highlights were at least two LEAST TERNS at
salt pond A2E, as well as a large flock of AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS.
The Least Terns were toward the far side of the pond, but one was
resting on the boardwalk. In each case, Forster's and Caspian Terns
were nearby so easy comparison of flight style and size was possible.
We also relocated the COMMON LOON at Shoreline Lake, and noticed a
single BLACK SKIMMER fly in and land on a small island at Shoreline
Lake.
Happy holiday!
