Subject: [pen-bird] Cattle Egret continues at Palo Alto Baylands

A cattle egret, mentioned by Ron Wolf in a post several months ago, was seen

again by me at Palo Alto Baylands this afternoon. It was again seen by the
palm trees behind the duck pond. Great views were had of a Clapper Rail at
low tide, which was out in the open and mixed in with the shorebirds and
green-winged teal on the mudflats on the south side of the bridge! Other
highlights for me included many (15) Semipalmated Plovers and a small flock
of Bonaparte's gulls, in addition to the usual array of shorebirds, ducks
and gulls.
