Yesterday afternoon I got to Byxbee Park about 4. With a little time to
spare, I found a nice Western Grebe posing in the slough on the south side
of the hill, and clicked away -- as a result, got up to the top of the hill
a little late, heard I'd missed the flyover of the SEOW by five minutes.
This afternoon, I got out there a little earlier, and found a
Red-shouldered Hawk perched on a wire on the way in, and then a CLAPPER
RAIL was in the slough on the north side of the hill. I got pictures of
both, but this time was careful to get up to the top of the hill with
plenty of time to spare. The SEOW, however, did not cooperate -- no
flyover.
