All,
This morning I was able to climb a bit higher into the cherry tree in spite
the wind. The PELAGIC CORMORANT was still in the northeastern corner
of Salt Pond A2W [it seemed to be mostly sleeping, head down, on the
dilapidated wooden structure] and at least two adult male EURASIAN WIGEON were
in the same pond. The BRANT and two SNOW GEESE were in the Shoreline
Overflow Parking lot along with perhaps a hundred CANADA GEESE. Two ROSS'S
GEESE were with Canada Geese in the northwestern portion of New Chicago Marsh
and I finally managed to re-find the YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER in the Tamarisk
trees in Ed Levin County Park. Big miss for the day was the Black and
White Warbler [to my knowledge it has not been seen since 1/1/07] in Penitencia
Creek Park and I also missed the White-throated Sparrow in Matadero
Creek [early morning, perhaps it's an afternoon bird].
Take care,
Bob Reiling
