[SBB] Golden Eagle

Hello,

My husband and I had the pleasure of watching a GOLDEN EAGLE hunting over
the fenced field and beyond at Sunnyvale Baylands Park this afternoon. We
watched for about a half hour and the Eagle stayed on the wing the entire
time except for brief landings in the field in the pursuit of prey. I don't
think he found any significant prey during the time we watched. I took
photographs and will send one to anyone interested. When the
Eagle came near the side of the field nearest the developed park a
White-tailed Kite flew out to mob him. That was quite a contrast in size.
One other observation that interested me was seeing all the ducks gather in
the middle of the pond and stay there whenever the Eagle flew close. Does
this mean that Golden Eagles don't pick prey from the water surface?

There are still two male BUFFLEHEADS in the pond just south of the Wave Walk
trail. I saw one female Bufflehead yesterday, but not today.
