When I reported finding a Brant in San Jose, I said, with tongue in cheek, "Perhaps the one in Palo Alto couldn't afford the rent or tired of the life on the golf course and moved to more meager digs." Janna Pauser did what I didn't get around to do. She compared the pictures found at:
of the Brant found by Bill Bousman in Palo Alto Nov of 2006 and the Brant I found in San Jose 02/14/07. I looked at those pictures and some pictures which I took. She pointed out that the white "necklaces" on their necks are different. In addition, I noticed that the dark on white patterns on their flanks are different. Thanks, Janna, for helping resolve the question in my mind.
Another question is, "Why is that Brant so far inland?"
