Another gorgeous morning, so I drove up to Skyline OSP to see if I could
get a better picture of the SAGE SPARROW(S). I did, but still not really a
good one. Saw a single bird in a bush alongside the fire road, a few yards
uphill from the junction with the connector trail -- that's where I got the
posted picture. Later I saw three similar birds together on the trail near
the rock and safety cable -- one lingered long enough for me to identify it
as a SASP, got a picture (bad, not posted.) I don't know if the three
sighted together adds new info on these birds.
I also saw three juvenile or female LAWRENCE'S GOLDFINCH together in a
bush, on the hiking trail maybe 50 yards north of the connector trail --
have posted a photo of one. Also heard and saw but couldn't photograph a
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER along the fire road.
For SBB folks -- I have posted also some shorebird photos of common species
from Alviso taken yesterday morning.
