This morning, 4/27/07, Pat Kenny and I went to
Smith Creek. A LINCOLN'S SPARROW was at the bridge, but not much
else. At about 8:30 am, just uphill from the gate behind the fire station
we found a good flock of warblers and friends: 2 HERMIT (of 4 for the day), 2
BLACK-THROATED GRAY, probably 2+ NASHVILLE, WILSON'S, ORANGE-CROWNED, and
TOWNSEND'S WARBLERs with LAZULI BUNTINGs, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, and a HERMIT
THRUSH. We walked out the Manzanita Trail to the southern boundary of
Grant Ranch CP, finding a male YELLOW WARBLER, WESTERN KINGBIRDs, an OLIVE-SIDED
FLYCATCHER and 2 WESTERN TANAGERs along the way.
