Hi SBBers,
04/23/07. Two vigorous BALD EAGLE nestlings were clearly seen today
in the Calaveras Rd nest. They were fed a snack from some red meated
prey remains in the nest. When the attending adult flew off for a
few minutes the youngsters watched with great attention and climbed
to a high spot (still inside) near the edge of he nest giving real
good looks.
On an other note, today after looks of the male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD
and the male
CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD at the doggie playground in Ed Levin, I tried to
refind the Lawrence's Goldfinch nest that I had reported 04/06. This
was about a 100 feet across the road from the hang glider parking lot
in a redwood tree. I could not find it! The spot where I had seen
it is clean of any nest remnants as far as I can see. I hope I'm
mistaken but If anyone else has noted this please let me know.
Dean Manley
