This morning, 4/2/07, I took the Grizzly Gulch
Trail in Henry Coe State Park from the end of Gilroy Hot Springs Road.
About 11 am I heard and saw a CANYON WREN near a large rocky outcrop about 3/4
of mile past the Rock Tower Trail and 1/4 mile short of the Dexter Trail.
To within inches, this is the same place I saw a continuing Canyon Wren on
5/18/06; that bird was seen by many observers. 6 WHITE-THROATED SWIFTs
were chattering and doing their usual aerobatics at the same outcrop, as they
were last year.
Other birds: 4 LAWRENCE'S GOLDFINCHes, an adult
GOLDEN EAGLE, 2 BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKs, many singing HOUSE WRENs, ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLERs, and WARBLING VIREOs.
