[SBB] Sunnyvale Baylands Monday Morning

This morning (9/25/2006) I did some birding at Sunnyvale Baylands Park. The
overall number of warblers seems to be at least temporarily down from the
past few weeks, with YELLOW WARBLERS still the predominant warbler species.
Other warblers included ORANGE-CROWNED, TOWNSEND'S, and YELLOW-RUMPED. The
sparrows (mostly WHITE-CROWNED) are back, but the most surprising bird was
an adult LARK SPARROW. Other interesting sightings were 2 WARBLING VIREOS
and a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE.

Later in the day Roland and I saw our first-of-fall RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER
in a camphor tree in front of our house in Cupertino.

Take care.
Pat Kenny
