I've posted a photo from last Friday morning of a HAIRY WOODPECKER taken at
Arastradero Preserve. Thanks to Mike Rogers for help with the ID. I noticed
the proportionately long bill; Mike adds that a Downy would have white
spots on the wing coverts, and black spots on the white outer tail
feathers.
