[SBB] Stevens Creek north of Highway 101

All,

This morning 10/12/06, I birded Stevens Creek in Mountain View between
south of L'Avenida to Crittenden Lane.

Highlights included 2 NASHVILLE WARBLERS, 1 with a BUSHTIT flock about
120 yards south of the lone eucalyptus (there were also an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, a bright hatch-year female BLACK-THROATED GRAY
WARBLER, and a few RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS with this flock, which
attracted a very small (male) immature SHARP-SHINNED HAWK while I
watched), and the other feeding in fennel on both sides of the
Crittenden Lane bridge. Two other BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLERS were near
the end of L'Avenida, a dull hatch-year female and a male.

Other birds of note included 1 adult GREEN HERON, 1 immature COOPER'S
HAWK, 1 OAK TITMOUSE, 3+ HOUSE WRENS, 2 HERMIT THRUSHES, 5+ YELLOW
WARBLERS, and at least one more ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.
