All: Today, Wednesday, November 22, at about 11:30 I had good views of the male Barrow’s Goldeneye on Shoreline Lake near the island, along with a number of male COGOs for comparison. He really seemed to be “all field-mark”: he had a prominent facial crescent, a strongly forward-slanting head, dark downward spurs on his sides, and less white on his upper-sides. This year, so far, there seems to be a higher ratio of Horned Grebe to Eared Grebes on the lake. On one of the Shoreline Golf Course lakes there were three White-fronted Geese in with the Canada Geese flock. Frank Vanslager |
