This morning Mike Mammoser, Frank Vanslager and I tried for but failed to
find the Yellow-bellied Sapsucker in and around the Spring Valley Group Picnic
area of Ed Levin County Park. We had at least five RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKERS
(one lightly marked RBSA clearly had red way down on the breast). Frank
and I then checked out the northern section of Ed Levin below Sandy Wool Lake
and failed to find anything of note. A RUFF was with the DOWITCHERS
in the pond at State & Spreckles Ave in Alviso; otherwise birding there was
very slow.
