Hi all:
No owls or loons this a.m. (well, there's a barn owl,
but I haven't seen it yet) at McClellan Ranch, but
Western Wood-peewee, Warbling and Hutton's Vireos were
calling/singing in the 8:oo hour, and a Lazuli Bunting
was singing in the 11:oo hour. The male Bullock's
Oriole buzzed Susan Bell and I at about 9, and the
first juvenile junco of the season was passing itself
off as a Lincoln's Sparrow under the feeders. A
red-winged blackbird landed and took seed out of the
seed feeder as well, which was a first for me (not the
blackbird itself, but the seed feeding activity....)
Good Birding,
Bob Power
