This morning at Rancho San Antonio, the world's
tamest WESTERN SCREECH-OWL was displaying nicely for anyone that cared to
look. Not 40 feet away, the world's tamest BOBCAT was equally
confiding. Both were almost totally oblivious to the hordes of hikers,
bikers and joggers than passed by while I was there. BTW, the bobcat might
be slightly injured; its left rear leg appeared to be stiff when walking (it
never cared enough to actually run anywhere).
If this isn't enough, most other expected
species for that habitat are easily observed in the area.
Amazing,
Mark
The obesity of the body is a metaphor of another obesity. There is a
tendency in America to believe that the bigger the better for everythingfor
churches, cities, malls, companies and campaign budgets. There's an idolatry of
bigness.
