Birders-
My weird work schedule must be messing with my mind. I somehow though today was a weekday and headed off to Rancho San Antonio to see the Western Screech Owl because the park wouldn't be crowded, right? Wrong. Typical parade of strollers and kids on bikes. But the owl was there, unphased, at 11:30. At one point, a group of four walkers stopped right under the owl, pointing at it, and talking loudly, in Russian, I think. It must have been shown to them earlier. Other stops in Alviso and Sunnyvale yielded little. There were a few dozen Western Sandpipers and one Least behind the EEC in Alviso. In Sunnyvale on the N side of the landfill next to the SWPCP I got buzzed by something. Turning around, I saw a probable Peregrine Falcon, disappearing behind the landfill.
