Laurie and I wandered down about noon and circumnavigated the lake between then and about 2:30. No sign of the little blue or the cattle egret, it was definitely not in sight where Bob saw it by 12:30 or so. We saw the birds everyone else is seeing (which is comforting). One bird we saw that hasn't been mentioned (or mentioned much) was Pied-billed grebe, hanging out near the island; also what seemed to be a baby (downy) coot swimming around. Looking at the babies in one of the nests, they seem a bit behind those in palo alto. also notable, at least to me, was a complete lack of cormorants. I found that odd for a lake that size. -- Chuq Von Rospach, Architech [[email protected]] -- http://chuqui.typepad.com/ The Cliff's Notes Cliff's Notes on Hamlet: And they all died happily ever after |
