Folks:
This morning, 1/30/06, I stopped at the Charleston Road marsh. Between
8:30 and 9:00 am I heard the NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH chipping west of the
narrow portion, about 30 feet from the No. 4 knee lift sign. It was hard
to find, but eventually I saw it preening in a gap in the sedges and had
good looks. I stopped at Shoreline Lake, but other than the BURROWING OWL
across from Michaels, I didn't see anything uncommon. Later, during the
rain, I checked the Stevens Creek Tidal Marsh at the high tide. I saw the
intergrade Eurasian x American Green-winged Teal that Bob Reiling
reported. It appeared to be the same bird that I saw there on the Palo
Alto CBC.
