Swainson's hawks seem to love hunting on the ground.
If you're near Eden, Idaho (25 miles east of Twin Falls) in early
September, travel down rural highway 25 and watch for small flocks of
Swainson's hawks foraging in farmers' fields. A car makes an excellent
mobile blind to watch from.

And the Peregrine Fund's World Center for Birds of Prey is 2 1/2 hours
west, near Boise. The Center has rehab and educational birds like golden
eagle One-Eyed Jack, and others you can see up close.
