Yesterday, the racket woke me from a sound sleep. I pulled on some clothes
and threw open the curtains to see what was going on. Local crows (OC)
usually circle the place in ones and twos, but this morning I had around
twenty:

They started talking back to each other. Loudly. Then they started knocking

That afternoon I ended up in Shoreline Park. This Anna's hummingbird (AH)
was more concerned about patrolling his territory than the crowds walking
past him at the Park's northeast corner:

The burrowing owl parents (NO) still live at the owl mound opposite
Shoreline Golfcourse's temporary clubhouse. I moved carefully within 20
feet of this banded bird, and started a staredown competition. He won:
