[SBB] Sunnyvale treatment plant..

The sun was out, so I told work to pretend I didn't exist, and took
the camera out to the water plant this afternoon. Birding was pretty
light (cool, clear, but with a firm and steady wind), not much to see
or report on -- mostly coots, moorhens and ruddys. Also seen were
some grebes (one pie-billed, others I'm still looking at the photos),
a double-crested cormorant, egrets, one night heron. I"ll upload
photos once I"m done going over them.

I did upload a couple of photos of birds I wanted to ask about.

There was a small flock of gulls on one of the ponds, along with some
coots. It was very skittish, didn't want anyone near it. I've got a
decent photo here:

and the best I can think is that they were bonaparte's, but I'm
really uncomfortable with that ID.

The other bird is another of those wee brown things. As I was leaving
in failing light (headed towards five), I heard it vocalizing in the
rushes, so I snapped off a shot just before it flew off. I never
actually got a good visual on it live, but the photo's decent:

I just am befuddled by these small things right now, though, so I
won't even guess....

The first rule of holes: If you are in one, stop digging.
