All: This morning, Monday, February 06, at 11:20 I had good views of the American Dipper, just downstream of the 4th bridge up from the Mt Eden Rd junction on Stevens Canyon Rd. The bird gleaned the boulders on Stevens Creek just below me for ten minutes, giving an occasional snatch of song. It finally flew upstream under the bridge (the 1947 bridge with a Stevens Creek County Park sign.) At 11:40 I heard, and then re-found, the bird upstream where a large pipe dribbles water into the creek. By 11:50 the bird had worked his way under the private bridge with the “Beware of the Dog” sign, and I lost it from view. Frank Vanslager |
