[SBB] Leucistic Red Tail Pacheco Pass

We've had a recent exchange of emails regarding the leucistic Red Tail Hawk that can be seen while driving 152 over Pacheco Pass.

This bird appears all white, but you can see the red wash in the tail.

I have just returned from a weekend birding trip I led throughout Merced County.  It was around 9:00 AM yesterday morning while on 152 east of Gilroy when I told everyone to keep an eye out for this bird. Sure enough, there it was! Toward the top of Pacheco Pass where there are many oak trees and a "canyon" to the south side of the road, we found it chasing another Red Tail. Not sure if it was picking a fight, or looking for love.  It provided great views and all the cars got to see it.

Its been in this same wooded area each time I see it. (Sorry I forgot to look for the cross street). We saw this active buteo around 9:00 AM.
