[SBB] Alviso afternoon

Today, 3 Feb 06, I went out to the EEC in Alviso to look over the gulls.
Shortly after arriving, Bill Bousman showed up and we searched together for
the unusual. Bill managed to pick out a first-year GLAUCOUS GULL on the
second island towards the southwest corner of the salt pond. However, no
Slaty-backed Gull. Bill remained after I left to continue the vigil. I saw
one BARN OWL in the nest box as I went back to the parking lot, and a female
MERLIN was perched on a power tower as I drove out the entrance road.
