The Black-and-White Warbler continued this morning as of 7:52 AM on the
park side of Penitencia Creek between Cayman Way in the east and the
small wooden bridge in the west, specifically in a sycamore
perpendicular to the west end of the Rainbow's End Building. This
sycamore is behind two pines.

Subject: [SBB] Black-and-white Warbler on San Jose CBC
This afternoon on the San Jose CBC (12/17), a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER
was seen at Upper Penitencia Creek Park in the Berryessa area of San
Jose. The bird was initially found by Mike Azevedo and was also well
seen by Rich Page and myself.
Upper Penitencia Creek Park is located at 3050 Berryessa Road west of
Piedmont Road. The bird was seen foraging in the riparian corridor of
Penitencia Creek on the south side of the park bordering Penitencia
Creek Road. To narrow down exactly where the bird was seen, it was seen
between Cayman Ave on the east and a small rickety wooden bridge
crossing the creek at the park to the west. We viewed the bird from the
park side of the creek.
The distinctively black and white marked warbler was seen creeping along
tree trunks and tree branches, and its behavior resembled that of a
nuthatch.
Other birds of interest at this park were seven WOOD DUCKS (6 males and
1 female) seen in the large pond which also hosted hordes of coots,
gulls, feral Canada Geese, Mallards, and Rock Pigeons, so it was
surprising and nice to see these elegant ducks in such "un-elegant"
surroundings.
