Subject: [SBB] CBC scouting
Today, 15 Dec 06, I went scouting for count week birds within the Palo
Alto count area.
At the end of Geng Road I had an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.
At Charleston Road Marsh I failed to find the waterthrush, but had a
WILSON'S SNIPE and a banded adult male COOPER'S HAWK.
At Shoreline Lake I had a male and female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, 7 BROWN
PELICANS, FORSTER'S TERNS and BONAPARTE'S GULLS. I ran into Mike Danzenbaker
and Lee Hung, who had seen the Horned Grebe there as well.
At salt pond A1 there were 2 male EURASIAN WIGEONS and 11 REDHEADS.
The overflow parking area at Shoreline Park had 5 CACKLING GEESE. SORAS
were calling at the Stevens Creek Tidal Marsh.
