All,
On the way into work this morning 8/24/06, I birded the east side of
Stevens Creek from near L'Avenida to Crittenden Lane. Passerine
migration is indeed well underway, with 14+ YELLOW WARBLERS, 2 WILSON'S
WARBLERS, and 2 BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS found along this stretch. A
female HOODED ORIOLE was feeding a young BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD at the
lone eucalyptus; a nearby but much less well-attended fledgling HOODED
ORIOLE suggests that at least one of the real young survived.
