[SBB] warblers

I found some nice birds at the Santa Clara Valley Water District this morning Aug. 21. I counted at least six Vaux's Swift's flying with Tree, No. Rough-winged, and Cliff Swallows. Barn Swallows were especially numerous. Some flying low over the pond and more adults and juv. perched in the cattails. The Spotted Sandpiper was on the spillway as usual, but assorted egrets and herons were less numerous today. A D.C. Cormorant's  flapping caught my attention as he took off from his perch in a Sycamore. He fell into the pond and landed on his back, righted himself and flew off.  A male Belted Kingfisher perched in a tree along the river bank occasionally dove for fish. I saw eight Yellow Warblers in the north east corner and  north side of the property. Most were in two or threes and giving a chip call, which made them easy to locate in the Sycamores. Two singing Wilson's Warbler's were on the north side low in the brush, one too well hidden to see. Two Western Tanager f. and two Black headed Grosbeaks were at Elderberry bushes on the north side of the property.  I walked down the gravel road but didn't find much except for f. or juv. Hooded Orioles and Song Sparrows. I came across a homeless camp on the river bank and quickly left.
