Re: [SBB] Burrowing Owls at Shoreline

Yesterday, the owl family told my little group of two adults and three kids that the owls had had it with us! They started hissing pretty loudly. Then, an Anna's hummer flew over the owl mound, and the hummer and the owls exchanged a few words too!

What do you suppose they were saying?

Phil Higgins, Burrowing Owl Specialist at Shoreline Park. says these owls have moved over from their breeding site on the golf course.  This pair did the same thing last year.

Who could know that BUOW could look for a summer home with the kids.

They're back! Today at 8:00 a.m. we counted 7 bourrowng owls (adults plus young) at the mound located 30 yards east of Michael's Restaurant parking lot, right along the biking/walking trail.
