Folks:
Cedar Waxwings normally nest no further south than Humboldt County, but
there are a number of extralimital records, including Orange County. We
have only one breeding record locally with adults feeding young in Palo
Alto on 16 Jun 2002. Very surprising is the early record this year in San
Mateo County--very wierd.
A few waxwings stay on into the first and second weeks in June, but as far
as we know these are not birds that remain to breed.
