This morning, in the fog, Frank Vanslager and I saw little of  note in 
Fremont Lagoons (best birds were a SPOTTED SANDPIPER, a SAY'S  PHOEBE and a 
LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE).  We didn't fare much better at the  EEC but these were at least 
"County Birds," (best birds were a DUNLIN on the  third island in Salt Pond A16 
and an AMERICAN PIPIT in the southeast corner  of the pond).  A BARN OWL was 
low down (nesting) in the nest box.
