Today on the north side of Lake Cunningham there were 2 CACKLING GEESE and 2 SNOW GEESE in with a huge flock of CANADA GEESE. In the shallow seasonal pond just north of the lake, there were 7 gorgeous CINNAMON TEALS (4 adult males), and an AMERICAN KESTREL on his usual perch on a lamppost north of the pond. I don't often see WESTERN BLUEBIRDS at Lake Cunningham; today there were 14, including several bright neon males (all found along the south edge of the lake). I could hear the "yank yank" of a Red-breasted Nuthatch in the pines on my way out, but didn't have time to stop and find the source of the yank-ing.
