EEC was closed (holiday) so we then checked out Arzino Ranch where we had a couple BURROWING OWLS and at least eleven GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE (at that time we were unable to see the three ROSS'S GEESE, seen later, because of the viewing angle). We then spent some time trying to find the elusive GREATER ROADRUNNER which was happily located by Peggy Don just as we were leaving. Salt Pond A12 had lots of RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS in it including several adult males (always nice to see the males). The only other bird of note was a CANADA GOOSE in New Chicago Marsh with an unusual head pattern (white on the forehead and some white extending back from the "chin strap" like a reverse comma connected at the top of the normal white "chin strap"). A nice flock of TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS was spotted in the corrals in Arzino Ranch. Take care, Bob Reiling _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
