Did the Calero run today....Saw a beautiful Golden Eagle (took some pictures) and missed the Bald Eagle....Walked down around the stable area and looked through a few hundred Red-winged Blackbirds and found one....Tricolored Blackbird....walked down to the end of Calero and found a Western Grebe..... after missing all the target birds I went there for I decided to go to Ojier Ponds.....on the way there I stopped at Richmond and Santa Theresa and found a Ferruginous Hawk sitting in the field next to some pipes that had red and blue tape on them.... NO Grackle....figures! >From there onto Ojier Ponds.....an Osprey was present... a pair of Common Mergansers were nice.....No Redheads and missed the target birds I went for..... >From there I went to Lake Almaden ....walked the trail....missed my target birds... >From there I went over to Almaden Water Treatment Center.... a pair of Common Goldeneye doing their mating rutual....Best bird was a Lincoln Sparrow....other than that.....same ole story...missed my target birds....
