I found my first-of-year BURROWING OWL in the environs west of the Railroad track. Today I had a double-eagle day at Calero - the BALD EAGLE was atop an oak past the dam, and a GOLDEN EAGLE perched on a telephone pole near the entrance to the boat ramp area. I had at least six TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS in the large blackbird flock by the horse stables, plus my first-of-year CALIFORNIA THRASHERS along the entrance road to the stables. I searched for the Ferruginous Hawk south of Bailey on Santa Teresa and side roads, with no luck. This expedition took place from 9:30-10:45 am.
