This is the first time I've seen the Merlin this season though I walk here most days. Last year a Merlin, probably this same bird, was here most days during early winter. I have fairly good photos if someone would like to check it out. I'm wondering if it is the Prairie race of Merlins. Would that be unusual for our area?
