Stopped by Shoreline Lake this morning to check for the Pelagic Cormorant...no luck....(but did run into Al Eisner) Did manage 3 Forster's Terns, a Red-breasted Merganser (duck looked sickly), Eared & Horned Grebes, a Willet walking along the side of the lake as well as a Greater Yellowlegs. Lots of Scoters, Ruddy Ducks, Common and 2 female Barrow's Goldeneye....and lots of Double-crested Cormorants in the lake. Stopping at the wooden deck I watched two Long-billed Curlews, Marbled Godwits, Dunlin, Western Sandpipers, Dowitchers (?), and 18 Skimmers. For ducks, Gadwalls, Northern Shovelers, American Wigeons, Cinnamon Teal, Pintails, Mallards, and Canvasbacks. Had a pair of Harriers and Kites. On the way out....I had 5 White Pelicans and 2 Common Yellow-throats.... The reeds were loaded with Black-crowned Night Herons (really cool).... Wishing you all good birding and my best regards, Linda Sullivan _______________________________________________ Do not post admin requests to the list.
