Both are females. The first is a bird at a feeder in either Los Altos or Los Altos Hills on 12/25/1974. It was reported from Los Altos Hills in _American Birds_ 29:738 and the source was Don Roberson. At that time Don was writing the seasonal observations column for _The Gull_. In _The Gull_ 57:34, the record is from Los Altos and the observer is May Dernin. Don's records did not indicate how he got the report, whether from the RBA tape or another source. If now, 30 years later, anyone can shed light on this record, I would appreciate it. Presently, there is no documentation of this observation beyond the failed paper trail I have cited here. The second is a female that Clark Blake and I found along Mines Road on a PRBO fundraiser on 9/27/1985. This was published in _American Birds_ 40:331.
