Over lunch today 2/10/05, after dropping off some Snowy Plover survey 
data sheets at SFBBO, I headed out to the EEC to look for the Glaucous 
Gull Mike Mammoser found in the flock east of Mallard Slough on 28 Jan 
(I had checked this flock previously on 13 Jan without any luck). Sure 
enough, a first-winter GLAUCOUS GULL was sitting down on the dike north 
of the new wooden platform across the slough.  After a while it stood 
up, walked south a bit, stretched its wings and tail, and then 
disappeared down the back side of the dike.

Also at the EEC nearby were an unknown number of BARN OWLS in the nest 
box and a singing BEWICK'S WREN (unusual at the bay edge but present 
here for a year now).
